summer;

had a belated birthday celebration at hann's place yesterday. i would have added 'surprise', but that didn't happen according to plan. i was lurking in my car waiting for everyone else to arrive when i saw hann walking past, and i did not manage to duck down fast enough. i wanted to use the 'oh, im lost' excuse, but then you'd have to be really stupid to be lost when your own house is just 3 minutes away. and before we could get him into the condo, everybody else arrived. so yeah, that kinda ruined the surprise.

the thing with meeting friends you haven't seen for a loong while is that they all ask you the same questions. mainly everyone wants to know who my latest boytoy is, and when i say 'no i don't have one', everyone gives me a 'yeah right' look. either that or they look suspicious, as if i'm lying. i have no idea why. upon hearing that, hann's mom asked me really loudly why am i not interested in her son. that certainly shut us all up.

simplicity;

pure white looks so good in interiors.

but when you try to create that kinda clean-cut-minimalist ambiance with your perspective drawings or designs, your lecturer tells you your work looks incomplete.

bah..

whats the point of calling it a holiday when I still have to go to college everyday?

everything was supposed to have ended with the final calendar submission on wednesday, then i found out i have to burn a CD including all the previous design works + model images, concept, blah blah and design a CD cover, which will be given marks apparently. so i had to go back to college early in the morning on thursday to hand it in.
this morning, i woke up at 10 cause we have some workers coming in to fix the AC, which turned out to be a good thing because then, i got a msg from Chris telling me a bunch of us were asked to participate in the MSID event in Nov and i had to be in college by 1030 to pay the fees. took the world's quickest shower and drove like a madman to college. after that, we had a brief talk about the event, and i finally came home at 1. started cleaning up my room...... to find that i forgot to return Mr. Redzwan's 'Nightmare Before Christmas' book that he loaned me a while ago. which means i have to go back to college on Monday again.

i'll never be free of that place.

this picture cracked me up. especially pornstar and hollywood.

hello, holidays!

i'm finally done with the calendar! took me the whole day to get it done because Photoshop died on me again and i forgot to save my works. they really should fix an auto-save in the newer version of Photoshop. submission time for Minor changed yet again, i fail to be surprised. at first it was on 28th, before 4pm. then they brought it forward to 21st, 12pm. then they changed it to 2pm, and i just found out half an hour ago, submission is now at 1130am. its like they can't make up their minds. thankfully, i'll be on a real holiday after this.

work yesterday was eventful. when the Petronas people arrive at 715, they will walk past an empty hallway into one of the rooms for a speech and award ceremony. when they come out 20 minutes later, the hallway is supposed to be all set up (by us); with tables, chairs, centerpieces, sofas, food, decorations and everything. so in the space of 20 minutes, there was a blur of people in black and white running up and down the hallway setting up. after that we had to hurry away so i didn't manage to get any good pictures.

during 'tear down', something funny happened. i was carrying a box of candles when i slipped on a puddle of water and slid down onto one knee, really romantic-proposal-style, at the same time this random worker walked past me. he stood there for about 5 seconds staring down at me on my bended knee, probably wondering what was i doing kneeling down in front of him. and lyd said 'you know, you should really get to know the guy before you propose'.

if there was ever a day..

.. for the worst screw-ups, yesterday would take the prize.

And somehow, I don't really think its my fault. Left the house about half an hour earlier so I could print my last presentation board. The moment I turned into the highway, I got stuck in a jam. After half an hour, I finally reached the turning to another highway. Drove like crazy, and I reached Citywrite at about 920 to print my stuff. But this dude was there ahead of me, and he was printing about 6 pieces of A1 plans. I asked if he could let me go first, as I was only printing 1 piece of A2 size, so its faster. And you know what he said? No. Oh, that selfish bitch.

Had to wait for his stuff to load because the file was really big. And while printing the last piece, the bloody file hung and it was already 945 and I was getting calls every 2 minutes asking where I was. Begged the woman from the shop to let me go first, and finally she agreed. I was about 5 minutes late and when I reached the studio, there was a big RED cross right on my name.

After I pinned up my boards (hoping my lecturer wasn't serious about us not presenting), Mr. Redzwan walked into the room and yelled "EVERYBODY LEAVE THE ROOM. I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FACES. GET OUT!!!!!!" And we all ran for the door.

After the presentation (unfortunately, he WAS serious about late ones not presenting), we had a short briefing where he basically said those who didn't present are most likely screwed this semester, and then he announced the names of 10 people picked for the external review next week. I was one of them, and I think it may be cause he wanted to give me a 2nd shot (it definitely wasn't for my design). So if I don't pass this, I will definitely fail.
