Well, I somehow managed to survive 4 days of all-nighters once again.
I've almost forgotten how that feels, after 3 months of holiday.
I actually really didn't think I was going to finish everything on time for the review today, having to deal with loads of Jappy revision for my exam this Friday and next week, and other assignments.
I'm officially the most hard-working person in the family. Aside from my dad, of course.
If it wasn't for my dad who stayed up with me till 4am, helping me cut the boards and glue my model, I wouldn't be able to finish it.
I felt really bad because I knew he was tired, but still he stayed up for me.
And today, my mom said to me "Remember all that he has done for you, and think twice before you ever get mad at him again".
So I feel this need to put it all in words to remind myself of what he has done for me. I need to confess that most of the time, the only reason why I was able to finish everything was because my dad helped me out. But in my defense, I don't actually ask him to do my work, but he offers to do it for me. Seriously. He'd say "Is there anything you need me to help you with? Just tell me what you want me to do". In fact, he gets angry if I don't give him stuff to do. I kid you not.
In Semester 2, I had 3 hours to finish 8 presentation boards before my design review, he stayed home from work to help me color my perspective drawings, cut and paste the drawings for my presentation board and even helped me do some detail drawings. And he wrote the whole 2,000 words essay for my Moral studies when I didn't have the time to do it.
Last semester, he helped me with all 2 models for design. And he did majority of the work for my Contract and Law assignment, including writing the draft for BQ and Schedule of Finishes, calculating the entire space, looking up material types + names, companies + prices. He even calculated all the total prices for me. All I did was go through what he wrote, and type it out in Excel. When we were given a last-minute assignment, he stayed up and did all the calculations for my OTTV assignment. But the funny(-est) one was the Theories assignment, when I had to write a brief criticism for 30 different buildings. And he wanted to do half of it for me, even though he doesn't know how to write a crit. He kept asking me to let him do it. I was like 'No, you don't know how to write the crit!' and he replied 'You tell me what you want to write, and I'll think of something." Its kinda funny when you think about it.
He's probably the only father who would actually stay up and offer to do his daughter's assignments for her.
And I am thankful, even though he can be unreasonable most of the time and thinks of me as a... possession he could just lock up at home and it'll be safe.
